How Dangerous is Tampering with the Registry?

October 29th, 2008 at 06:46pm Under Main Content

Unfortunately, registry problems are that much trickier to deal with and you’ll find that a lot of the time, even though you’ve removed a program, it still leaves some stray references in the core file of Windows files. This is a primary cause for a large number of registry problems.  Nowadays with very technical scanning software, you can easily fix registry problems within short time.  The primary reason to fix registry problems is so you won’t get to the point that your system will no longer run at all.  Then it may be too late.  All that is probably needed is a good registry scan software and you are good to go.

Problems with the Windows™ registry are a common cause of Windows™ crashes, slow performance and error messages. By using a registry cleaner regularly and fixing registry errors your system should not only be more stable but it will also help improve your system performance without expensive hardware upgrades. What this means is, before you go out and spend money on memory, try cleaning the registry first.  It’s a cheap way to find out if that is all you need.  Some people report that their computer has stopped crashing and is running at least 3 times faster than before.  And those are pretty typical results. By using registry cleaners regularly your system should not only be more stable but it will run faster.

Because of poorly written or corrupted device drivers, bad memory or a memory conflict causing a crash, a damaged registry, or conflicting dll’s – most people would fault the PC in whole – when it is most likely the registry area. In Windows versions 95,98, and ME you may also get a message stating that there was a virtual device driver crash and it will give you the option to restart your computer. These errors that cause crashing, slowness, instability are generally because of registry problems. And it’s a quick fix – run the diagnostics tool, identify the precise problems in your Windows registry so you can determine exactly what your PC is suffering from. Any error or corruption of registry files can cause crash of the system or halt the system from time to time.

Eventually, when you don’t fix a slow or corrupt PC, it get relegated to the corner, or the kids work area and you buy something new.  This is really a crime because registrys can be fixed and since they are only lines of code – they can be rewritten, or changed.  Back in the day, we were bold and attempted to change registry settings ourselves – with some guides printed out from the Internet.  But I can remember more than once crippling my computer to a stand still.  Those were the days when if it didn’t work, you simply reinstalled Windows.

I guess what I’m trying to get at, is that you no longer have to go the road of trying and further frustrating yourself with a hack at your precious registry.  Someone got smart and created software that first analyzes the settings in the registry.  Then it tells you what it will do if you would like it to repair what it believes are errors.  And someone was even sharp enough to create a registry backup before committing to changes.  Man, I wish I would have thought of that!

So if you have been wondering if registry repair software is something you should try, yes – I’m going to recommend them to you.  Simply because you can always revert.

Registry Easy backups

As you can see, each time you run your registry cleaner, the registry does get backed up – not overwritten.  This is very important, because there are some registry cleaners that actually overwrite the backed-up entry, each time.  You don’t want that, because then you can only go back to the bad state you had before you started.  You want to be able to go back from the first time you ran the software.

If you have any questions about registry cleaning and optimizing, simply drop me an email in our Contact Page.  And thank you for your visit.  I trust you learned something useful.

A Look at Registry Repair Tools

October 27th, 2008 at 11:57am Under Main Content

If you want to learn more about registry repair tools then take a few moments to read over this article. More specifically we’ll discuss the types of problems you might be experiencing, what causes these problems, and how registry repair tools can help solve the issue. Most of the registry repair tools are downloadable through Internet, thus giving you the freedom to choose over a variety of brands available. The convenience for accessing the same gives you the independence plus the added knowledge of repairing the PC all by yourself. You will also learn about the different registry repair tools that can make repairing your system registry simple and easy. Find out how to get a free registry scan here.

The debates continue to rage over whether registry repair tools really help. However, I think the first question is, do they hurt?  And the answer is, most don’t.  But don’t trust everything you see out there.  Watch it in action if you can.  Knowing what registry repair tools are and how to use them is necessary with today’s huge operating systems. This is because the registry is the most important part of the Operating System.

When we go on working with our PC’s, installing software, working on the net etc, we accrue registry entries that many times do not get cleared out. Registry problems are more common in older versions of the Windows operating systems, but even on Vista, I found over 2000 errors – many simply empty registry entries. There are tools available to assist with editing and cleaning the registry, and they may be the best way to handle your registry problems without causing undue damage to your system.

Whenever you clean the Registry, you will notice improvement. This is because the computer uses the registry to locate where things are. Empty entries simply slow down the process. What is great about registry repair tools, like Registry Easy, is that you can revert back to your former entries by reinstalling the old registry file you save after your scan. Registry Easy can simplify the process of cleaning up your hard drive and save you valuable time. It can detect and delete obsolete files, recovering wasted hard drive space.

Displaying of the Blue Screen of Death occurs when Windows cannot recover from a system error. In most cases you need to reboot the computer to get it started again. Many times this is a simple fix that requires clearing out some erroneous data either in the registry, or elsewhere.  If you’re having these sorts of problems, a registry repair tool can help.

In addition to repairing the registry, many registry repair tools will also come with bonus features, such as memory optimizers, duplicate file finders, junk file finders, fixes for Internet Explorer, and more.  Pay close attention that the software offers a way to back out of the “fix” and allows you to revert in case the “fix” doesn’t really happen – or you get unexpected results.

Finally, look for a registry repair tool that offers a nice discount.  All of the professional tools will have these discounts simply because they know you will become a big fan of the software, as I did with Registry Easy.  They know that taking a few dollars off the top will be OK, because you’ll be coming back for other tools they release.  Many people take advantage of the discounted software updates or upgrades because as Windows changes with new update, the registry repair tool will have to be updated as well.

If you have any questions about registry repair, please write me using the contact form on the right.  And thank you for stopping by the site.

Easy Repair for the Blue Screen of Death – BSOD

October 26th, 2008 at 08:25am Under Main Content

The blue screen of death, also known as the blue screen of doom or simply blue screen, is one of the most notorious error messages in Windows based operating systems. To fix blue screen errors, you can safely assume that there’s something going seriously wrong in your operating system.

Despite so many versions of Windows, BSOD still exists so it’s a useful feature. The bugs are scattered quite liberally in most of Microsoft’s operating systems, so the BSOD, an error reporting system as well as an end to all your current work is in fact a feature. BSOD is closely tied with Microsoft’s operating systems. Due to large number of system bugs, a blue screen can appear freezing basic operations, an application’s work, or even with no occasion, decreasing system’s functionality, or permanently hanging it at. I have almost never (either with my own machines or at work) seen a BSOD that wasn’t caused by faulty hardware driver.

Many times after a computer crash, your PC will boot into “safe mode” which is a troubleshooting version of Windows (only the most essential drivers and software are loaded). While in safe mode, run both a virus and spyware scan. In some cases, the blue screen is caused by failed hardware or corrupt hardware drivers (the software that makes hardware devices or components interact properly with your computer). In some cases, the blue screen can be caused by memory problems.

These error messages often reference missing files or “runtime” errors. Using an efficient registry cleaner, you can defragment the registry to remove all registry holes to make it compact, and re-index registry files to considerably improve data access time.

System or Windows performance will decrease after quite some time due to the software installation and uninstallation by users. System or Windows registry will be overwrite once any software being install or uninstall, if installation or uninstallation was perform in proper way, the performance of the system or Windows will be effected. Problems with the Windows registry are a common cause of Windows crashes, slow performance and error messages. By using a registry cleaner regularly and fixing registry errors your system should not only be more stable but it will also help improve your system performance without expensive hardware upgrades. During the normal operation of a Windows system, registry data is constantly being written to and removed from the registry. Over time this data becomes scattered within the registry file and when information is deleted from the registry holes are left which fragment the data within the registry.

How a Bad Registry Can Slow your PC

October 26th, 2008 at 08:09am Under Main Content

I couldn’t understand why my computer was so slow. I tried getting rid of the spyware and viruses, but I still couldn’t get it running the way I wanted. My computer kept crashing with “illegal operation” errors. At first I thought it was a virus, but my anti virus wasn’t able to find anything wrong.

When these entries are removed, your computer’s performance can be significantly increased. In fact, they guarantee it! Whether it’s incomplete uninstalls, failed installations, driver issues or spyware infections that are affecting your PC, Registry Easy will rid you of your computer problems in just minutes Put your PC back to work for you! You can defragment and compress your registry with the click of a mouse.

The heart of all this is the computer registry. It contains information and settings for all the hardware, software, users, and preferences of the computer. Whenever you make a change to the Control Panel settings, file associations, system policies, or installed software, the changes are reflected and stored in the registry. If you’ve been frustrated, I suggest the free Registry Fix scanner.

Don’t let your computer become unstable! Your system’s registry gradually becomes larger and larger over time, causing numerous windows error codes and slow PC performance. Giving your computer a reboot all the time? That a sign that registry errors are destroying your computer’s performance.

Your system registry holds a wealth of information about your computer, which is why we constantly hear from users that after using their PC for a short length of time, it no longer works the way it used to. This is due in part to invalid entries that exist in your system registry, that might exist because of software you are no longer using or software that was not properly removed. This is especially great for me as I am the Dummy they write books about for computer users. I would highly recommend this for the pro as well as the dummies of the world. Make your computer load faster.

Not to mention once you purchase the software once you can run it again and again. The Windows registry is something that needs to be checked once every 3-6 months, so having a tool on hand to fix registry repair errors is ideal. Is your computer running slow? If so, then you have errors in your registry.

Understanding Registry Fragmentation

October 25th, 2008 at 08:04am Under Main Content

The installation and un-installation of software, hardware, and drivers on your computer often leave remnants behind in your registry, resulting in a tangle of unused applications, broken software drivers, and incomplete and empty command signals. This mass of confusion slows down your computer and if not addressed promptly can lead to serious problems such as PC errors, computer freezing, programs not responding, system crashes and a host of other problems. These files allow the software developers to share a piece of code amongst many applications thereby reducing the redundancy and improving the efficiency of the system. DLL files are used by almost all the Windows applications, device drivers, and Windows Operating System itself. Every time we add programs or applications to our operating system, we run the risk of triggering errors and bugs which will always be a problem. The best way to combat this risk is by ensuring and double checking that the software, and particularly hardware devices, are compatible with your computer.

Over time as you clutter your PC with more applications, drivers, software etc, things just start to slow down. Compatible with all Microsoft products and third party applications, Registry Easy seeks out those remnants left behind from failed installations, incomplete un-installations, disabled drivers, and spyware applications. Items can be restored at any time. Even with normal everyday use, your computer’s registry becomes bogged down with unused remnants, invalid shortcuts, remnants from spyware applications, invalid drivers and more! I bet you had no idea did you?

However, if these errors become frequent and occur across multiple applications, then it is usually the hardware that is the culprit. If you have recently installed a new hardware device, remove it temporarily to see if the problem disappears. Computer experts use sophisticated registry cleaning applications to quickly and effectively solve their registry issues. Scouring the registry for incomplete entries, corrupt files, disabled drivers and undesirable entries left behind by spyware, Registry Easy’s sophisticated technology quickly and easily restores your registry to its optimum condition. PC-Library.com is a comprehensive online database that contains a large resources of information relating to PC errors messages, applications associated to different port numbers, computer terminology. Associated with each error, you can find tools and tips to effectively resolve the problem.

The Registry Easy scan will easily find the cause of errors that result in almost all computer problems. See a scan on the home page here – a video I made showing what I found. Registry Easy will save you from reformatting your computer. The scan will identify errors related to missing startup programs, missing system fonts, invalid shortcuts, missing dll files, invalid application paths, invalid device drivers, missing file associations and missing help files. There are invalid entries in your registry that can cause problems with the operation of your computer. After a while, your computer experience becomes more stressful than it needs to be as closing error message alerts, fixing problems and restoring data seems to take up the majority of your time. I guarantee that the software can eliminate 100% of your PC errors and restore your computer to its optimal level of performance! Registry Easy is also safe.
